- The SHO filter 5nm 2 inch is highly transparent, allowing the emission spectrum of the nebula to collect as much energy as possible by accumulating exposure. There is higher contrast and the level of the nebula is richer and more delicate.
- This filter set is not suitable for telescopes with a focal ratio below F/5;
- 2 inch mounted; The filter can thread directly into the 2 inch barrel of your telescope eyepiece.

Promissing set
I received the three filter set recently. The filters came packaged in their packaging and put only in a small carton box. I would preffer and suggest SvBony to package them in nylon inside the box so they do not move freely in the carton box!
As I wrote in the caption: they look very promissing. Each filter is in rits small carton box and then in a nice plastic box for the filter with insulation. The filter glass is sealed on both sides with thin plastic film that to protect it. I like this very mutch. Thus you also know that it is absolutely new.
Unfortunately the weather is very bad for astronomy for the last 2 weeks at my side and I will update the review as soon as I have the opportunity to test them in the field.
That was cool!!
when I stacked the images in pixinsight it looked really weird, so I took out the Sii data and stacked it separately then added it with pixel math and it added another layer of detail that was cool.
Wins as per quality/ money over all. Highly recommend
It’s was nice experience with SHO filters.
I was curious how good it could perform against the published specs. I did my test and I got some good results compared to other people but not in comparison with specifications. Yet, I was really impressed by the performance and the quality I got when imaging. Here is some of my test results.
OIII peak at 500.9 nm
Max transmission = 83.7%
FWHM = 6.3 nm
Ha peak at 656.0
Max transmission = 85.0%
FWHM = 6.4 nm
SII peak at 672.3
Max transmission = 88.4%
FWHM = 6.4 nm
The price for SHO 2” on other companies is almost doubled of the 7 nm FWHM filters. I am glad of purchasing SHO and I hope they would one day reach there published specifications goal and the keep the good price.
good filter
Package met expectations. Looks cool, sorry to be so expensive, but cheaper than others. It remains to check in the work. Sulfur and hydrogen give out a red picture on the eye, greenish oxygen. The next goal is to buy a monochrome camera.
Great value for money
I have these including the dual band pass filter. These are great value for money. Svbony had realy great filters etc for acceptable prices!
High-quality and affordable SHO filters
It is resistant to light pollution. With this filter I get more subtle colors out of my deep sky images. In terms of price, it is much more cost-effective than other SHO filters on the market. All in all, it's effectively multiplied my imaging sessions many times over. I am very satisfied with it.

Features
- 1. The H-Alpha 5nm is an extremely narrow emission-line filter that works by allowing a 5nm bandwidth of light, centered on the 656nm wavelength through, and blocking the transmission of contrast-killing light pollution wavelengths. Wavelengths that are responsible for natural light pollution, or skyglow, are drastically reduced, as is artificial light pollution caused by high and low pressure sodium vapor and mercury vapor lights. The result is a high contrast image that reveals the H-alpha line in all its glory;
- 2. The Sulfur II 5nm Extra Narrowband Filter transmits a 5nm bandwidth of light that is centered at 672nm and drastically reduces other transmissions, including wavelengths of light that are responsible for light pollution (both artificial and natural). Like all SVBONY filters that are designated as “CCD”, this SII filter also blocks infrared wavelengths from 700nm to 1100nm so you don't need a separate IR-Cut filter;
- 3. The Oxygen III 5nm Extra Narrowband Filter transmits a 5nm bandwidth of light that is centered at 500nm and drastically reduces other transmissions, including wavelengths of light that are responsible for light pollution (both artificial and natural). Like all SVBONY filters that are designated as “CCD”, this OIII also blocks infrared wavelengths from 700nm to 1100nm so you don't need a separate IR-Cut filter.
