Superb Quadband Filter with Clean Signal Separation

The SVBONY SV260 quadband filter has exceeded my expectations for OSC astrophotography. Designed to isolate H-alpha, H-beta, OIII, and SII emission lines, it delivers exceptional contrast and clarity in broadband-polluted skies. I use it with my color CMOS camera, and the results are consistently clean, with minimal star bloating and excellent suppression of background gradients. What sets the SV260 apart is its well-defined transmission peaks and sharp cutoffs. The passbands are narrow enough to reject most light pollution while still capturing strong signal across all four emission lines. I've managed to extract convincing SHO-style color maps in post-processing using channel separation techniques, which isn’t typically achievable with many competing multi-band filters in this price range. The build quality is robust. Coatings are consistent, there's no noticeable internal reflection or ghosting, and the filter performs well even under high humidity conditions. Threading is clean and secure, with no issues fitting it into standard 2" filter holders or filter wheels. Bottom line: The SV260 offers an unbeatable price-to-performance ratio for anyone looking to get serious narrowband-like results from a one-shot color camera. It’s now my default filter for emission nebulae imaging.

SV260 Multi-Bandpass Filter

Firstly the filter arrived in reasonable time, as expected. Secondly, it's well packaged. The filter comes in it's box containing a plastic clip locked hinged box with foam inserts and is protected on either side of the glass with film. It's also well made from a sturdy piece of aluminium housing the not wafer thin glass. I'd say the filter improves the contrast in your images, definitely the SNR and provides some colour enhancement in the red area. It's recommended usage is for bortle 3 - 6, I live in a bortle 6 area so for me it's fine. It deals well with light pollution, I have many LEDs nearby but I understand it would do even better with older style lighting, sodium and mercury types. All in all I'd say it does it's job and provides great value for money. As always SVBONY provides good kit at good prices. Give it a go if you're in a bortle 3 - 6 area.

Pretty result

I got it last week, try it at a clear night, pretty job, just a good choice for astrophotography! I recommend it.
